Birmingham

Just outside of Coventry, Birmingham is one of the major cities of the UK. It has one of the highest populations of all English cities, making it a popular and must-visit place.

Nottingham

You can visit their underground caves, or tour the astoundingly large Elizabethan mansion Wollaton Hall. There’s also the National Justice Museum, which looks at centuries-old methods of trials and punishment. For some greenery, visit Robin Hood’s home Sherwood Forest, which has many family-friendly walks and trails.


Derby

Derby is an English city found on the banks of the River Derwent. It is a historical city, home to famed nurse Florence Nightingale and one of the world’s first factories.


Must-visit is Matlock Bath, where the cable cars at Heights of Abraham can be found. It is a fantastic way to view the Peak District. Also just outside of Derby in Castle Donington, the famous Download festival is held, which presents popular rock music acts every year for three days.


Stratford-upon-Avon

Home to the most famous playwright in history, Stratford-upon-Avon is a medieval market town that prides itself on its Shakespeare roots. You can visit the Royal Shakespeare Company theatre to watch an adaptation of one of his many plans or sightsee around where he was born.


Besides Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon is famous for its ghost tours and haunted hotels. Visiting here for a spookier adventure is always worth it, particularly during the Halloween season.
